Jodie Foster behind a computer wearing simple plastic glasses.
Calling attention to the advantages of eyeglasses as a means to correct refractive errors.
We base our opinion on the following convictions:
1. Safety
Glasses are non-intrusive to the eye, unlike other means of correction
in case of a refractive error. Moreover, in many cases modern lens design
and materials protect the eyes - to a certain extent - against being invaded by a harmful object.
2. Long technical tradition
Glasses were invented over seven centuries ago. The lenses as well as
the frames have been improved ever since and this process is still going
on at an increasing speed. This is the case with regard to the design
and materials of lenses and frames resulting in an optimal viewing and
wearing comfort.
3. Endless possibilities with respect to personal appearance
You can use your eyewear to be among the trendsetters, follow the fashion
or even to react against it. In combination with this, glasses can be
chosen either to accentuate or to gloss over certain facial traits. You
can opt for low profile eyewear or for bold frames to make a statement
and even switch between these extremes at will.
4. Multifunctionality
The primary function of visual correction can be combined with numerous
other functions. We already mentioned safety and appearance. There is
also the possibility to combine solutions to many different refractive
needs in one and the same lens, protection against light, combination
with safety goggles, wearable computerscreens, solutions for color blindness,
hemianopsia, ptosis, dry eyes (moisture chamber), etc...
